I loved it in my childhood, I love it now. I know, the most famous dish of the Hungarian gastronomy is the ’gulyás’ (goulasch), but I think, the best in this cuisine is, thak we cook many different soups and ’főzelék’. (’Főzelék’ is a thickened soup, you can cook it from any kind of vegetable or fruit.)
The star of the summertime: chilled, sweet and sour fruit soup
Hungarians love soups and it is sure, that the star of the summertime is the fruit soup, especially the chilled sour cherry soup. You can make it with cream, but the traditional variant made of sour cream. This is a fantastic, easy and refreshful course in the hot days.
